Daisy-chaining the MIDI ins and outs I suppose, and just assigning proper channels on each device.

oh, damn, I meant to get back to this thread, sorry wolfman.

Daisy chaining is just going in one device, out of that device in to the next, out of it, in to the next and so on, so they are hooked together in one big circle...then just make sure they areall sending and recieving on the right channels so they don't get each others data.

Then the actual audio outs of each go in to your mixer...

Here is more detailed info, Thanks so much for your help!!!
I have a Roland MV8000 midi in out A and B I will be using this as my seqencer, I have a Korg Triton Rack sound modual midi in,out, and thru, a Behringer UB1202 mixer, Midiman 49 Controller, and the DR880 drum machine midi in and out,
I want to be able to trigger the DR880 as I lay down a track and record the drum pattern and sound at the same time if possible, if not thats cool, at least record my drum pattern on the MV8000 so I can later on add other tracks to it..I have 12 inputs on my mixer..If you need anymore info please let me know. This will all be just home recording no live, and no computer at this point!!..someone said I may need something called a midi switcher???..But I have called quite a few places and no luck..so any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
I joined HRC Pro tonight:) and may get more info there!!!
I REALLY do thank you for your help!!!!!!
Ps,, At first as I work on the drum and melody parts it would be nice to hook up just the DR880,controller and triton so I can play a melody as I hear the drum machine???.I hooked it up through the mixer and I can see a midi signal going through the triton but I can only hear the drums?

hmmm, interesting. This is far beyond what I've ever tried before, but I'll see if I can offer anything.

So the MV8000 has midi A and B, out of curiosity does that mean two seperate midi in/outs? Either way, I would try and do something like this.

Midiman49 (midi out) to Triton Rack(midi in)

Triton Rack (audio out) to MV8000

question: you say you want to trigger the drum machine while playing. Do you mean play on the keyboard while the drum machine plays a rhythm. Or do you mean, you want to play the keyboard to trigger sounds on the drum machine?
