Dec 08, 2004 07:42 pm I guess they're giving it away to increase the user base and hopefully better compete with the likes of Acid etc, by word of mouth.

Dec 09, 2004 10:23 am I installed this last night on my junior PC first (sb pci 128) and it said it couldn't open the audio device, and wouldn't play. Which is wierd cause all my other stuff works.
Then I loaded it onto my music PC (1010lt) and it worked great. Certainly a strange beast, but looks like it's very gracious in letting you control whatever you want. I don't think I'll be parting with my n-track / fruity, but does look cool.
Dec 09, 2004 10:25 am I'd use Tracktion over nTrack any day of the week.

Dec 09, 2004 12:03 pm Can you give me a few of the big differences that come to mind? I'm curious as to what would make you say it like that. Like, if there's things I can do in tracktion I can't in nt/fl.
(outside of the testing / developer issue you mentioned before)
Dec 09, 2004 12:05 pm Didn't say there was anything you can/can't do in either, I just think nTrack is a clumsy product. When I test drove it I also had a lot of bugs that the author of the app would never get back to me on. It was a bad experience.

Dec 09, 2004 12:12 pm I was wondering if that was it, I remember you explaining your testing of product and the problems you had.
Dec 09, 2004 12:15 pm It wasn't the problems I had (I am a developer, I understand bugs), it was when I asked him about them, or alerted him to them he never responded, after repeated attempts, when he KNEW I was reviewing the app for HRC, THAT is what got me. Mackie was wonderfully responsive when I was looking at Tracktion.

Dec 09, 2004 12:37 pm that's what I meant, the overall problems; a bug, getting with developer, no response, etc.

Dec 17, 2004 10:59 pm Looks cool, and free is even better. But I have so many dang apps now I think I will pass. But I do agree it is a great little app. all the reviews have been great.

Dec 18, 2004 06:56 pm I downloaded and played around a bit with it. It seems a lot like ACID to me, but with some added functionality. Pretty happy with CEP, so don't see myself using it, but it's cool they put it out there free.
