Behringer V-AMP question.

Just a couple of simple questions to V-AMP owners, as I couldn't find the answers on their website. Can it be used as just a preamp (with no cab emulation) into a poweramp?? I have a pretty good poweramp and I plan on buying a VAMP anyway (I LOVE the way it sounds recorded!!! Better to my ears than the PODXT)and would like to set it up this way (if possible):

Guitar-->VAMP(with no cab)-->Poweramp-->Cabinet.

Also, for people that have done it this way, does it sound good live?? Last one: If I set it up that way can I have a live setup like this--

Guitar-->VAMP-->Poweramp-->cab-->mic-->PA system
PLUS
Guitar-->VAMP-->PA system

Thanks a bunch, I love this site!!!

VAmp has several signal routing options. I would have to check tonight at home to be sure (I have a Bass Pro) but I know you can run a totally dry signal, I am guessing you could disable just the cab sim as well.

Cab sims are totally optional, as are effects, and basically everything else.

There is a tube-preamp option which is a pure clean signal...many routing options including dry left and fx right etc.

And, I agree re: quality versus the Pod. I have a VAMP, all my guitars have been recorded using the VAMP on my EP and I am delighted with ther results....top little unit.

Good luck to ya

Coco.
