there's a piece of software called Garageband that comes stock with a lot of the new Macs out there. I have a PC so i was just wondering if there are any alternatives out there that closely resembles what Garageband does? thanx

Nov 28, 2004 05:11 am Acid or Ableton Live i'd suggest are closest - in that they are loop based music making apps, with the ability to record aduio as well...id pick Acid personally...

Nov 29, 2004 11:22 pm Both Acid and Ableton live do so much more then GarageBand does. Either of those apps. will get you rolling along great.

Nov 30, 2004 01:28 pm I like garageband. especially the 32 band eq on each track. Yep there are things GB wont do, or I dont know how to do it yet, but as for now I like GB.
Dec 01, 2004 06:09 pm yeh it seemed GB is pretty good at what it does since i'm assuming it had a narrower focus as a program. and thanx for all the suggestions. One thing though, which version of Acid do you guys recommend? again what i'm doing is running instruments, vocals, my MPC, etc. with or without a mixer at times, so i need a good all-around multi-track recorder. thanx again.
