hello! i'd like to know if there's a way to record audio from a program (which plays *.dcr - macromedia format). i haven't found any program to convert dcr>wav, i think i can use something to record from executable... and i don't want to use 'stereo mix' in my sndvol32, because it produces a lot of noise. do you know, is it possible? what can i do?
thanks for help

My minds eye pictures the output of your sound card running to the input of your sound card and recording it like that...of course my minds eye also pictures an endless loop created that way, so I dunno...make sure the output from the recording app is bottomed out and it might work...

A lot of sound cards let you record any sound playing on your computer. And there are programs that do the same too. Check download.com, I'm sure they have something there.

@all:
yes, in other words, i want to capture the output of my soundcard, not to my speakers but .wav at best :)

i have also connected my line out to line in and it worked :))) but there is also some noise and sound is recorded on low level... tomorow i will do the same using better cable :)
i'm still waiting for some other idea

@ILLbizzel:
thx, but this is what i don't want to do, this way quality of what's being recorded is low, there's a constant noise.

There actually shouldnt be any noise introduced if you do it Ill's way. With say the SoundBlaster card you simply choose the what you hear button and it is tranfered without ever leaving the PC. It should be a complete digital to digital tranfer of audio and not introduce any noise. But I guess some cards may or may not have this option.

yes, maybe i don't have this option, the sound recorded by 'stereo mix' is not 'digital'... any program that will do this?

qwerty, I am going to be rebuilding my studio box for the next few hours, but as soon as I am back on line I will look around and let you know what I find. I am guessing there should be something in the freeware section of our Recording directory that might so the track. If you like ahve alook aroudn there adn surf a few of the sites and see if you find anything.

"What you hear" "record master" or "wave" will all do the same thing.

One of these options should be in the standard windows mixer, even if you've got onboard sound.
