Oct 28, 2004 03:02 pm by the way...in case you dont know...the connections on the back of the MOTU are
- 3 banks of TDIF in/out
- 3 banks of "optical" in/out (which i believe may be the "ADAT" connections im speaking of)
- 8 channels of analog in and out (which will be connected to the outs on my Behringer mixer)
- Word/Video in/out
- SMPTE and S/PDIF in and outs...
Oct 28, 2004 04:42 pm ADAT typically travels through an optical cable, or a "lightpipe" or a Toslink cable. (I think that these are all names for the same thing). I just bought such a cable to connect to ADAT devices in my own home studio. It cost me $14.95 for a 3 foot cable, and it works wonderfully. I got it at Best Buy.
I'm not up on word-clock either. Perhaps the place where you are ordering these items from would have the info that you need.
