*** OFF SUBJECT WHILST STILL STAYIN ON IN A STRANGE WAY ***

OK...whilst we are going doon that road:

Vocals/Gtr: John Lennon
Vocals/Bass: Paul McCartney
Lead Guitar: George Harrison
Drums: Ringo Starr

THE best band ever assembled. Individually, collectively and any other iley...the best.

Also, innovators in the studio - bar none. Whae else would drop reels of tape, throw them up in the air, cut them up, stick em back together, loop em backwards, forwards and sideways then call it....Revolver or Sgt Pepper.

The Best.

There are two bands I've envisioned. The first is the one I'd put together just to cause people to cringe universally.

Lead Vocals - Me
Guest Vocals - DMX & Lil Jon
All Guitars - Brian May
Bass - Roger Waters
Drums - Ringo

How much sacrilege can you cram into one package, eh?

As for the real deal, here's what we'd go with (this time, I'll just leave myself out for humility's sake):

Lead Vocals - Freddie Mercury
Guitars - Brian May
Guitars - Robert Fripp
Bass - Tony Levin
Drums - Neil Peart
Keyboards - Andrew Giddings

Overkill?

Thank you BM! That was a good laugh. With the exception of the male human who has been socialized to bounce at the knees, wave their arms and stand stupified with their mouths hanging open, the pooper gyration is the universal communicator of "pick me! pick me!" My cats do it, my daughters do it, my grand kids do it, visiting k9's do it.

Now that's a visual experience!

The sound guy should always be the dude from the Far Side comic that was running sound and was turning up the "suck" knob whilst the crowd is hucking bottles and stuff at the band...

Why has nobody said Lisa Simpson playing sax? Or "Bleedin' Gums" Murphy? They ROCK.

About that suck button, it really exists. There is a sound guy who has been in my area for years. During a sound check he manages to get the band sounding really sweet, and just when you think he's got it he hits a button on the desk and the sound turns onto a reverb screeching distorted mess. The button has been named after him and is well known in the Essex town of England where I come from. I don't dare tell you it's name in case he ever reads this. Lovely bloke though.

Oh no loss of cohesion at all. In fact I am enjoying seeing the imagination of it all. I do see dB's pont though of no body picking little Lisa on sax, I am sure she would rock.

I too am amazed no one has named any of these guys yet.

Guitars: Nigel Tufnel

Now my head's spinning.....

David Gilmour seems to be popular. Busy boy. He's one of my faves, but since you all "stole" him first, I'll pass on him.
By the way, Drums: Budgie. Laugh? I nearly bought a drink. That's the bloke from Siouxsie and the Banshees, right? Very good....

Mine (a choice of one of each entree):

Electric Guitar: Francis Dunnery/Mike Kenneally
Acoustic Guitar: Adrian Legg/Richard Thompson
Bass (tough one): Leeland Sklar/David Hungate
Keys: Greg Phillinganes/Stevie Wonder
Drums: Prairie Prince/Simon Phillips
Vocals: Fee Waybill/Johnette Neopolitano

Eclectic? Moi?

All very v. good players. Should be able to knock out a cover of "Wild Thing."

No one picked the bass player from Nirvana. Coincidence? I think not.

Guitar 1 - Gunter Shultz (KMFDM)
Guitar 2 - John Spencer (JS Blues Explosion)
Bass - Charles Levi (My Life With The Thrill Kill Cult)
Drums - Danny Carey (Tool)
Producer - Martin Atkins (Pigface)

.....and of course Richard Cheese and The Lounge Against the Machine would have to provide a full compliment of cover tunes for everything created by this lineup.

Actually, Danny Carey played on a pigface track at one point. I was actually thinking that Martin Atkins would do just that. It amazes me that he can give live drums an almost electronic feel just by mixing them the way he does.

I actually thought I would plug a band from my area since we are talking about people from different bands joining up. I just bought this CD from Jay Popson (formerly of Mushroomhead) called The Exotic Sounds of The Alter Boys. It is very good. Not that much metal at all. Its got players from Unified Culture (an old school Cleveland band from like 1993), Dog Fashion Disco, The Spudmonsters and of course Jay. Really good stuff. Kind of Funky, Jazzy with harder moments for the metal crowd.
