I've been working with a friend of mines PC and he is using Home studio and right now the problem is transfuring the cakewalk file into a wave file or the likes of that so we can burn it onto a cd . I'm just getting frustrated at it right now so i decided to take a break , maybe it's something i'm just over looking ,( that's the case most of the time) . but if anyone has any in put I'm open for anything right about now .

Surely it must have the option to export as a Wav?? I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and you just go up to Tools > Mixdown Audio > Export to File. There must be some way to export the audio otherwise the program would be pointless. Have you tried the help menu?

In Sonar, the path is:
File
Export Audio

Then you check the options that you want
and
Ok.

I think that in Home studio is the same.

with SONAR you also either have to have nothing selected and the "now time" at the begining or the tracks you want to export have to be highlighted (like if you cut a wave in thirds and only want to export the middle)

And also remember that if you have midi file's, they will not be exported as audio. You must first record them as an audio file , and then they may be sent out as audio or wave file's along with the rest of the mix.

To record the midi file back as a wave file you must play back the midi track's only, no audio. And set a apir of track's or more to record the audio back into the program.

One thing that's awesome in SONAR is that if you have MIDI tracks playing thru a DXi Soft Synth, you don't have to convert it to audio. Just select them and they'll go in to the mix.
I'am not sure if it works with all the synths but with the Live Synth, B4, Fm7 and Pro-53 it does.

Yes it is nice to have it convert the file's to wave automatically. You can also export to wav if you like to save it in another file.
