ok. firstly we'll need some help...

got a soundcard? if so, which one? nextly, got any way of plugging the stereo into the soundcard?
then, have you got any recording type applications on your pc to record the sound once its flowing? what pc is it? which operating system? the more info the better

feel free to fill out your gear profile if youre intending to stay around here (which hopefully you will) and welcome to HRC!

well, you got a card, its plugged in right by the sounds (gedit?) of it, so you oughta just need an app

audacity.sourceforge.net/ is free and will let ya record single tracks and eidt them pretty easily...

See, it sounds like you got it hooked up cool, to send sound from your pc to your stereo. That's all good, but now you need to send the sound from your stereo to your pc. Do you have any outputs on your stereo that send sound to other devices (maybe a dvd player or a different receiver or something)? If so, you will need to hook that output to the line in on your soundcard. Then you can record to the program flame pointed you toward.

Well, "the green input" isn't really much help...however, one thing to check that is actually quite a common oversight is to open the little Windows mixer and make sure the inputs are not muted. Mic inputs are often muted by default. If you have some aux outs going to the PCI128 card they should not be going into the mic ins, they should be going to the line ins.
