Soundcards

I've recently just got into recording and so far this site has been a great help. I assume people ask this a lot, but I know nothing about sound cards so I need to ask. I'm looking to purchase a new sound card since my current one is about as standard as you can get. I mostly do kind of rock music mixed in with weird ambience and Industrial stuff, think along the lines of tool and a perfect circle mixed with akira yamaoka's stuff from the silent hill games and you'll get an idea.I'll need to be able to record around 20 to 30 tracks and will also need quite a few inputs so I can record my band live in practice if I need to. Also I don't have a ton of money to spend on this so I need something reasonably priced. So what would you recommned?
Thanx in advance

Hue's suggestion is good, also audiotrak.net/maya1010.htm would be worth a look, tho a bit more expensive, it has a couple more analog ins and outs.
