I need help please. I'm new to Cubase 2 SX (ex-Cool Edit Pro user) and I'm desperatly trying to add VST instruments into my music. I'm currently using Native Instruments FM7 and its great stand-alone. However, I can not for the life of me get it working in Cubase. Perhaps I'm missing a step. I add it under devices-->VST instruments, bring it up and turn on the power switch and the red light.
I'll add a new midi track, match the channel to the instrument as well as the output (output says FM7). Now when I hit my keyboard I see the lights on the main floating "rack" but now under FM7. Seems all my ASIO drives are fine since I can play back inported audio fine. Can anyone shed some light on this wonderful, new, exciting thing!!?? Thanks!

Cheers!

I might have misunderstood you, but do you have the problem of not getting the Midi from the exterior keyboard to trigger the FM7? If so, press the monitor button in the midi-track (It becomes yellow) and make sure you have selected All Midi Inputs or your keyboard midi-port in the IN box of the track.

I belive I tried that. I just can't get any sound. Though, I will try your idea when I get home from work. Thanks!

Okay, I gave it a whirl and still no sound. The meters on the midi track read when I hit the keys on my raduim 61, as well as on the main track. But still, I hear nothing. I checked the mixer and turned the track up too... that did nothing. Any suggestions? ASIO seems to be working (it plays audio tracks that I input in). Thanks!
