Hi Folks
I thinks maybe DB is the man to answer this but there may be someone else oot there who will know:
How do I stream MP3's online so users can play em but not download (for my new site to be launched asap)...
Cheers guys.
Coco.

Aug 03, 2004 05:21 pm To do it so they are not "cached" on the users PC requires a media server on your hosting server, which is quite costly. Done via an m3u file will "appear" to not download it directly to the users PC, but it will be available in their internet cache if they go digging for it.
Waldo knows all about this stuff, and has spent much time, money and energy building a system like the media server. I have not for HRC, but it is something I am researching during my downtime...if I ever find the perfect, free answer, I'll share, but so far there isn't one...that I am aware of...
Aug 03, 2004 05:23 pm Aye...that's cool. The M3U method seems to be the way to go methinks...the average user wont know that and the average user probs wont even bother to clear oot their cache, never mind check it!
I think that will do the job DB...cheers for that.
Just needed to check with someone "in the know" so to speak!
Many Thanks
Coco.
