was wondering today about what other forums you guys like to frequent, particularly those about music and recording techniques, and what they feature which hrc doesnt.

for example, ive been visiting the www.em411com electronic music forum for a few weeks now, theyve got an awesome forum about making and modifying electronics for use in music, and ive had some brilliant ideas as a result...you can check it out here www.em411.com/show/forum/10

any of you got anything else to share?

I personally tried a few other sites like this one but found nothing like this site.

I tried the cakewalk site when I was on Pro Audio 9 and got the most wide replies ever! As I was new to it, I didnt know at the time but looking back they were a bunch of over zealous jackasses!

This site rocks so now I dont bother lookin for others...I just come back here. Folk are friendly AND knowledgeable - someting unique for sure. Usually you get one or the other which I cant be bothered with maself..

Cheers

hmm, besides HRC, I regularly visit the

Soundclick forums, mostly Crtics Corner for giving and getting reviews/feedback.

IndieHangout, This is a great bunch of Indie artists just hanging out together.

Adobe Audition Forum, since I use AA. :)

Content wise I don't think any of the above compete with HRC's offerings.

for home recording, HRC is the best on the net hands down. but i'm such a theory buff that i do need to go to a dedicated site for it. that one i mentioned is new and full of really knowledgable jazz types and assorted theory experts. its really cool.

Um, the only other place I go regarding music is craigslists musicians section. Craigslist is a message post board place that everyone and their mom uses in the bay area, for just about everything. If you're interested it's www.craigslist.com. Click on musicians. You never know what you're going to find, but I check a couple times a week just in case something interesting might pop up. I've found good deals on gear there before, and found an informal singing group I used to sing with before they went kaput. But one warning, there are a bunch of jackasses there, but it's usually humorous if you don't take things too serious. I also advertise local shows on there.

Hey Flame

My regular hang out is the awesome www.artistcollaboration.com

It had one huge mother crash a while ago, but has rebuilt slowly. In fact, the hit kinda weeded out all the users that were no longer active..... bature's way of streamlining?? :)

Apart from that, the ntrack forum of course, though i dont go there as much as i used to. I've tried quite a few forums through the years, but this and artist collab are by far the friendliest and most productive *for me*.

My pleasure. You don't have to be unfaithful, there's time for both. :D

That does seem like a good forum, not as good as HRC of course :-). I went to CGR for a while, but found it frustrating, as they are "Christian Guitar Resources", yet, out of their many forums, only a few are actually about music, playing and recording all the substantial bulk are about religion...Which is fine, but misleading. The Christian Music Forum is at least focused more on music.

by the way...

fantastic christian rock band:

Stavesacre.

guy's got a unique voice (oddly pinched and almost unmusical but he uses it musically--quite interesting) big guitars, and stomping riffs. and lyrics that are about "pure things" but never actually mention christ.
