Have you read anywhere that you even can at all? First you would need to know the filetype that the Alesis saves the music is. I would suggest starting by reading the Alesis manual.

Hi Laba, welcome to HRC!

I've never used the HD24 but I did a little research for ya. It turns out it is possible as long as you have either an optical adat connection(you can stream 8 trs. at time this way) on your computer or an ethernet jack (upload through ftp as individual wave of aiff files)

Here's the link to the info I found

Hi,

I have completed to download 1 track (first track) optically to cubase! And I think there is another problem... and the problem is that, I have to download 1 track at the time, but i'm not sure.
Manual tells me nothing about how to download all tracks at the same time, even Cubases manual.

It is much easier to use a nic card in your computer and use eithernet. There are a number of FTP server progs you can get for free to do the downloads. You simply set up the FTP address in your alesis and in your computer and using the FTP server prog. do a drag and drop of the wav files from the Alesis to your computer. You then use time import command in cubase to load the wav files. The Alesis records every track in both mac format and pc wav format. They appear in folders just as on a pc. Real friendly once the network connection is made.

Using an Adat optical link you should be able to download the tracks in banks of eight dependant on the number of banks you have available on your PC. If I remember right it is a process of re-recording the tracks in cubase and setting the tracks up so they will record on the individual 8 tracks in each bank. I did it once a long time ago before I set up my network connection.

If I download via ethernet are the tracks in sync?
I have that sync-cable, but i think that won't work if you are using ethernet connection...

I had conversation Musikhaus Thomann (where i bought this alesis and HDSP-card) and they told that it is possible to download all the 24 tracks at the same time, but it just won't work!

ps. My time code doesn't start to run (it keeps hanging around in time 0). I think that should run...

I too have an Alesis HD 24. I have the proper settings (IP Address/Gateway)and the proper xover network cable. And even though the green light is on by the Ethernet port and the orange activity light blinks when I try to connect...it wont connect. It happened both in Internet Explorer and FTP Voyager. FTP Voyager gives me an error message:"Socket Error"
Its a brand new computer thats never been or will be hookedup to the Internet. Im only running a few music programs such as Acid, Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge and...you get the idea.
Also the HD24 freezes up sometimes when trying to exit FTP Server mode. I looked in the manual and checked everything over and over...
And of course Alesls support in the east is closed today.
Thanking anyone in advance for any feedback that might help

Wow, I surely do not understand. Obviously I won't be much help as I never experienced the problems you are having. I use MAX FPT and Core FPT both of which are free shareware FTP progs. I set up the Alesis and computer just as described in the Alesis manual and had no problems at all. I am in the PC world. Each track is recorded in both mac and PC formats and kept in seperate folders on the Alesis HD. As far as sync. there are no syncronization issues as you are not playing the files back via the Alesis you are simply transfering files via eithernet. They are recorded in sync and will be in sync when you import the files into Cubase or whatever. If you want to transfer them via ADAT link you will need to have an ADAT capable soundcard in your computer. Here you actualy play back the recordings from the Adat and record them in your recording software. The link is simply digital instead of analog.
Wish I could be of more assistance.
