Just got a Crown CM311 head mic and I'm Free at last!! Free at last! Good god almighty I'm free at last! I've been supressed by that mic stand for far to long. I can now walk around on stage and express myself. I connect far better with my audience this way. How does it sound? I hear muttering out there. It sounds clear and detailed. I think I like it better than my Shure Beta 87. I'm so proud of it there's a picture of it on my booking page. It's so pretty

Congrats on the headgear. I know a lot of peeps really like the freedom of a headset mic. I stopped playing live before they were worth using onstage but I know I would have loved having one. Makes for a better feeling playing live being able to move around the stage at will.

Had a look at the update on your site as well, looking very good these days. I like the addition of the studio page. Glad to here you like your POD. Which model are you using? I recently switched to the XT and love it. Firmware updates will keep it new for a long time to come. If you are using the POD XT you should go to Line 6 website and download the Line 6 Monkey, it will get you online and search for all updates for your POD and install them or link you to the download. I just updated with the new software and must say I am even more impressed with the POD now as they have tweaked it even further then before.

Again congrats on the headset, and keep rockin.

Sigh,... I just have the 2.0 Pod. If I upgraded it would probably be the rackable XT. You could be just the man I'm looking for. Do you also have the Bass pod? What have you heard about it? I've heard people use the guitar pod for bass and like it fine or better.

hmm, I don't carry a guitar, but I'm all over the stage, even with a mic cord dragging behind me and getting tangled in my feet. But I'm only just a vocalist, and I don't do no, brit spears funky munkys (ok, yes I do, but I just do it with the mic in my hand).

Rack mount is great, but for me in the studio the regular POD XT is fine because I tend to drag it around the room since it is mounted on a mic stand which comes in handy for when I need to tweak it and what not.

As for using it for bass, I know dB and I both have used our PODs for bass for years, and I havend had any beef about my bass sounds. I normally use a cleaner amp model and just adjust from there. Although any of the amp models will work, just some react better to the bass then others. That said, I do think the effects and processing on the regular POD give a much wider variety than the bass POD and that might explain some peeps preferance for it for bass.

As for the bass POD itself, I have used it and did find it much better tailored for bass guitar. But I would never be able to justify spending the money when I get pretty good sounds with the regular POD.

As a side note I think you might have interest in. I use my POD XT as well as having used my older POD for acuastic guitar as well and the XT with the new updates is absolutely fabulous sounding, even though I have a fantastic pre on my acuastic the POD still brings much bigger life out of it.

coolo, I am rolling just trying to picture you doing a Brittney dance while rapping.

Yes that is interesting. It just never dawned on me to use pod for acoustic guitar. Usually when I think acoustic I think I'm going to mike it. I've got a Taylor with fishman matrix pick up that blends between mic and pick up. It could take weeks to settle on a sound. Thanks for the info on Bass Pod. It sounds like the reccomendation is If you have the bucks buy it. If your on a budget you can get by with the regular pod. Thanks
