Nuendo/Delta 4/4 question

Hi Guys,

I've just purchased a new Delta 4/4, but I'm having a bit of trouble setting it up to run smoothly with nuendo. The problem is that I have to be in "Monitor Mixer" mode in the card options to hear the input (in this case a digital piano)through the monitors. However, to hear the recorded file (or mp3's, or anything else)I have to be in Wav out mode. Therefore I cant multitrack anything.

Anyone know a way to set up the card and software to work effectively together?

Aye..I'm assuming Nuendo is the same as Cbase SX.

There's an option for "Direct Monitoring" which you will need to enable and this will allow all your monitoring to be done via Nuendo (assuming its the same as SX).

Also, from the Delta 44 control panel - if you set the "monitor mixer" you will hear the mix as you do it i.e. anything connected to your inputs will be played regardless of whether or not you have set the "monitor" button on Nuendo on/off.

If you set the ouput to the Wav out mode, this removes the monitoring facilities from within the Delta control panel. However, you should still be able to monitor from Cubase using the wee monitor button on each track. So in short - the monitor mixer is using the Mixer facility within the Delta 44 control panel and the Wav Out is used for the actual sound output i.e. within your Cubase app.

I think that covers what you're after but there is a great online help facility within Cubase apps - I learned this from that so if this aint clear, fire into the help and just type "monitoring" under the search.

Good luck and welcome to HRC!

Cheers Mate, I got it all happening now.
Previous to this I wasnt that familiar with either Cubase or Nuendo, so it was a combination of little setting ajustments between the hardware and software. All fixed and running fine now though.

Good stuff...

Glad you got it working. Aye - its a wee quirk that had me to start with as well as the Delata/Cubase was my first "serious" purchases...

Sweet.
