now what? ive got no idea what to press or set in any of those apps to make em work. anyone got the knowledge or patience to run me through step bystep in any of these apps? dont mind which, just wanna get something working!

itd be muchly muchly appreciated...

I think you need to select midi channel 10 in the software. If I remembver right, thats usually the default. Its been a while since I did the drum machine/midi thing.

ah, sussed it...there was a setting in the machine itself needed turning on, and the leads didnt work unless the in was plugged in the output and vice-versa...

hours of midi triggreing fun to be had!

just need to sort it so theres not a second of latency between me pressing the button and cubase playing it...works alright in fruity, but not 'base...

Hi Flame..

Where you been hiding buddy? I had a similar problem with my drum machine recently.

The stupid thing has a default midi channel of 1 and 2 for the drums (I can do 2 drum tracks at once) and 3 for bass.

Of course, using the universal channel 10 would be far to easy for the professors of nuclear rocket science at Zoom tho eh!!

Fantastic when you get it on the go tho isnt it! I will let you in a dumb goofball thing I done - I had everything set right for an hour I was swearin/snappin/rackin ma heid.

Then I realised...my USB Midi thang has Midi IN and OOT! So..dipstick quickly changed the lead into the drum machine and voila!!

RE: Latency - Aye, I have that problem in Cubase SX too. But, I usually just use the wee notch feature and knock it on that way when its in as audio from midi. Dont think there is a way to solve that problem but the wee notch trick seems to do it every time. Good luck.

:-) DOH!

yo! been mega busy at work, so not had much music time really, apart from building some little guitar boxes and modifying some kit to make weird new noises.

anyways, yeah, im glad its working. its gonna be another steep learning curve to get this doing what i want, but ill get it...no rush.

hows things with you buddy? whenever i see your name i imagine you looking like jason from BB...just cos you talk (type) like him though i guess...

Good stuff - glad to hear you've not been doing nowt!!

Aye - I've been busy on this Dukes of Hazzard cover! A braw wee idea methinks and its shaping up nicely...DB is doing the bass and Guitar Jim has done some backing vox which fit the song perfectly. Other than that - just doin away.

Jason is a fool...he is a disgrace to ma nation! All he does is whine on and on like a big woman's blouse!!! Aye, he mibbe uses some of MA words but he's whats commonly known as a..well, yi get the picture! And James, I think yer watching WAY too much BB (Tho pleanty nudity now - that'll please yi! hehehe).

I havent done anything with the collab we'd started but I think we were lookin at you doing some drums/bass and vocals. I think it's actually turned slightly heavier than I had hoped...tho - its different I suppose!
