Hey guys, a buddy and I have put together a VERY basic home studio. I mean bare necessities. Take a listen to our songs and let me know what you think. I know they don't sound at all near radio quality, but we think they're great songs.

Check out my band Entity on the following websites....

Thanks for your time and ear,
Tony

Hi DT

I heard "Can't Say Goodbye" and had the following impressions. First, a more polished version of this song is all it needs to compete with the stuff on the radio. The song itself is too pop for my personal (and admittedly eclectic) taste, it sounded like a standard heavy rock ballad made for radio. I didn't really hear anything that made the song stand out from others in its genre. The vocals could use some compression - the volume flutters about a bit in some parts.

I liked "One Day at a Time" right from the start. It's more interesting than the other one. At 1:32 there's a sudden guitar lick that comes in that I thought was a little out of place. I liked the vocals especially, very nice performance and the sound of the singer's voice is very pleasant for the song and style.

Thank you very much for your input. I appreciate it.

Ya, "Can't Say Goodbye", still needs some work. We finally have a real drummer, and maybe a bassist by the end of the week. So soon we'll get some better versions up.

Again, "One Day at a Time" we've done better. We wanted to see some feedback before we went much further. I'm glad you liked it. It's good to hear that about the vocals too. I kinda thought, I was singing it too, mmm, whats the word I'm looking for, boring...

Again thx

tiger, you need to get some cabsims in your arsenal. The clean intro was cool, the vocals are ok, but when the overdrive kicks in, the direct Rat-Pedal tone almost ruins the cool mood of the song. Dont get me wrong, the song is very nice, but you need to get the overdrive under control. The fuzzy type thing is very detremental to the vibe in my opinion. Sounds like a very cool lost Guns & Roses tune, but even Slashes tone is better than that. Grab a cheap processor and go direct into pc, it will make a huge difference in the impact of your tune also.

I'm assuming you're talking about "Can't Say Goodbye".

We went DI with the second guitar, but not the first. I never did like that sound. My buddy said it sounded good at the time, but now I've convinced him it sounds like crap. I have a Marshall amp, and it sounds way better than that. I think the EQ on the mixer was set wrong or something not sure. Can't put my finger on it. But ya, it definently needs to change.

Thanks for the input. LOL My buddy and I will have a good laugh, about it sounding like GnR. We both love 'em. And although we didn't want to mimic them, we wanted people to hear their influence coming through.

hey , influence is great, as long as it doesnt sound like one of their actual songs, which it doesnt. The plageurist police arent chasing you!!! LOL!!!! The singing was pretty good also, just try to dump the 3 pound bumble-bees!

I couldt listen to the other one, another windows error in media player.

LOL Chex. We're not the only ones either! After we chose our name, we found another 2 bands that have the name as well. Thing is, we've already purchased a domain with the name so we're keeping it. There's nothing really there now, but our website domain is www.entitytheband.ca

Guitwizz, thx again for your comments. Ya thats what I was sayin. We wanted to have their influence in there without sounding just like 'em. It's too bad you can't hear the other one. I think you'd like it.

Thing is, since we've been practicing with a real drummer the songs have changed a bit. For the better no doubt. As soon as we get the bassist in as well, we'll put up better, stronger versions of these songs as well as some others. We're working on another couple that have a Metallica sound. They're just rockin' songs.
