I'm writing a song critical of both candidates for the Presidency, and I want to include a 'morphed' clip of the two of them saying that ubiquitous tagline, "I'm so-and-so and I approve this message."
Now, I'm trying to get the phrases to sound as close to being uttered by the same person as possible. I've already done some time-editing and volume adjustment to get their rhythms pretty close.
But they don't sound too 'mashed' -- just like two people saying the say thing.
What kind of effects should I apply to get them to 'mingle' more? I was thinking about notching some sound frequencies in one and boosting in the other -- kind of a 'puzzle pieces' situation.
Has anyone tried this before? If not, any educated guesses?
My other question was whether legally I can do this. I think it's safe to say that the song falls under the umbrella of 'satire', but since it's a law that candidates have to say the line, I'm wondering if I run the risk of slandering someone...
