I am recording on a Zoom digital 10 track. I can unplug it and take it to other locations without losing anything can't I?

I can't see any reason why not. The only things I could think of might be things like eq/effects/pan settings but if you do lose these you would just turning the unit off. As far as the recorded music you won't because it records on a hard drive. If it's anything like my Fostex vf160 you should be able to store and load different programs. Mine saves any recorded data automatically with no need to save. The only things I do have to save are things like the program name and eq/effect/pan etc settings. This is actually my 'on the move' recorder for shows and such so I'm sure yours wouldn't work any different. I think your safe.
