I was reading the post about recoring live performances. If the band I'm recording is running everything through a mixer, and I'm using my Roland 1680, would I just go into the line out of their board or would it be better to use mics as in your answers on the other post?

Apr 17, 2002 10:05 pm by all means, if you can use the direct fo line out's use them. You will them be able to mix what you want, and yoru level's will remain consistant with the main. You can always ad an extra mic or 2 if need be, but pulling the mix right off their board is the easiest route to take.
Apr 18, 2002 06:09 am I don't know the specifics of your ROland, but as a rule I agree with Noize, use their mix if it sounds good, better yet, if their board has direct outs on each channel use those, then you can record it multitracked and mix and process the muxic later.
The other thread was a different matter, half the instruments were not even running through the mixer at all!
