First rough mix of one song on Project Dead's first album, Project Dead. Perverse is just that along with an everything advisory. Couldn't stand listening to it any longer, time to put it up for scruteny!

wow, heaaaavy. my first thought is it sounds "drown" not hearing any hi's. does that make sense. it feels all low end. Now, i must say that this isnt my usual music i listen to so maybe this is how its supposed to sound.
Cymbols are too far back, burried, the lead popped out, but its still heavy on the deep end of eq. it sounds muddy and deep overall. (and im at home on my good stuff, not at work)
The song is good, the playing is good, im not sure though if the mixing, or recording is holding it back. My only comparison would be to metalica, and it doesnt have that "edge/sharpness" that they attain. Make sense? i dont know how else to say it.

Thanks Tony! Ya my thoughts too. They are all on the deep end of the EQ scale in this one for sure. I'll take another look at the cymbals, but I really don't know how much top end I can get out of it. Tomorrow I will be reviewing it with the two lead members of the group and see what they think about pumping the high end a little. The pop out solo is something I just havn't futzed with yet to blend it. I kinda want a few reactions like yours to get perspective outside of the band members.
