Hi Guys

Does anybody know of any (cheap/free would be best!!) vst's or soft synths for Bagpipes??

Obviously we have the GM standard pipes but they are truely gash!! IS there any way to make these better??

Alternatively, can anyone suggest/has had any sucess with making their own using some other software?

I really need some pipes for a song I have planned but alas canny record the pipers I know cause they are either TOO LOUD or just good at what they know but no good for this project!

Advice is welcome on this one guys...

ta.

I sure don't have any advice towards bagpipe emulators, but could you use a different instrument that's similar? I know that the dulcimer is related to the bagpipe (although only in its tuning). Or maybe an accordion? Or a collection of guitars using ebows?

Or I guess you could violate a cat and get a very convincing bagpipe sound. :D

well, im sure you could find some VST's with some bagpipes. there's one called edirol orchestral that i've seen which--i think--has them.

Cheers guys...

The annoying thing is the Father in law is a piper!! But he's good at what he does - no doubt - but would be no good for what I need - some improvised bits for a song I have!

Tadpui - Aye, not a bad plan and one I will look into should this fail - trouble is - I REALLY need pipes if at all poss!

Forty - I'll go check that oot cause if thats so - then I'll have some of that!!

Cheers guys...

oh man... I got the best idea for using bagpipes on a track now, but I don't have any plugins on my WK3000 at the moment. I will have to search the Garitan Personal Orchestra suite for bagpipes and see what they have. :D I'll definately let ya know if I happen to run across any. :)
