I'm looking at buying a couple of kick drum mics. I've read a little about the Sennheiser 602. It looks like a pretty interesting mic. The frequency responce is set up similar to how I eq a kick. Does anybody use them? If so how do you like it. Before I go buying a couple of "B-52's" I'd like to check out a Sennheiser 602. Thoughts??

May 13, 2004 10:44 pm i have heard only good things about them.
i personaly have a d112 and have not used the others
there are several kick mics in the market at the same $200 price tag
b52
d112
d6
602
for the record i use the sennheiser e604's on my toms and love them
i never realy heard anyone say that any one mic was better or worse just slightly different in relation to punch and boom and the amount of EQ you may need to add.

May 15, 2004 09:28 am The only Senheisers I have are a set of three clip on's for toms. Sorry, I can't remember the model number. They are very nice little mics. Absolutely no complaints. I would imagine there some better mega expensive drum mics out there but the Senheisers are definately good stable reasonably priced mics.

May 16, 2004 12:37 am Ya got my curiosity up and I pulled one out of the case. Mine are e604's as well. Guess that kinda sinches it...pretty darn nice mics!
May 16, 2004 04:41 pm I have a 421 that I love! That mic sounds great on drums, bass, and guitar... depending on the sound you want. I guess I'm gonna have to see if I can find some place that has one and check it out.
Thanks for the input.
