I'm looking at the Midiman Oxygen8 or the Midiman Keystation 49. Both run through the USB port. Anybody have these, or something similar? How is the latency? I heard that the USB is pretty slow.
Thanks,
Joe

Sorry. After I posted this, I realized that the same question was kinda asked by groovemouse. My apologies...

honestly though, i prefer this one here.

that thing is just cool. it does cost a little more but it has built in effects and the full sized board is really nice for soft synths. it essentially is like having the softsynth as an actual piece of hardware.

Sep 30, 2002 09:52 pm Hey Joe, latency is not a midi issue, it is caused by the audio card and software not talking well with each other. The USB port is more than fast enough for midi. I use the MidiMan USB MidiSport 8X8/s and have not had a lick of trouble. Considering that most midi interface's run through the paralell port, USB is a very distinct improvement.
