There are a few IRC CGI apps at places like HotScripts.com. The chat app at HRC is FlashChat, which is flash based and has nothing to do with IRC.

And yes, I have been a a few good chats in there, but given we only have a few hundred members as opposed to a few thousand it isn't used all the time...

Hey, We should schedule chats, so we can actually take the time out and all have a good chat.
I use the chat when i can, usually nobody in there, but there have been some good chats.

I check the chat room too, most everytime I'm here but there has never been anyone there. A scheduled chat time or something would be cool.

Yeah, Noize and I have discussed that before, and trying to get a special chatter guest like somebody from PowerFX, maybe the author of MultitrackStudio, or someone from Virtual Studio Systems or something like that...trying to give the chat a theme, we've bounced a few ideas around in regards to the chatroom.

i'm affraid of it. I think to slow. A simple chat would probably become a carier choice for some poor unsuspecting folk.

These threads run very 'chatish' sometimes .

From now on when I come to read and spend time listening and responding I'm going to open the chat room in a new window. That way if anybody shows I'll know . Instead of just opening the chat room, seeing that nobody is there and immediately leaving. I think you gotta hang there for a while until others show up, the odds of 2 people showing at the same time are rather low.

I'll be in the lounge, lounging.

Yeah I'm down with that... I'll leave it on in the background - does it beep or something when someone joins though?

Not sure about the bbep Will. dB will no that one. I would be up for having coolo be our first chat guest as lotsa folks seem to enjoy his music. We could even get Flame to discuss recording on a string er I mean budget, or should I just say with free stuff. We can try and get a schedule going to see when we are all going to be around.
