Hey..I'm not sure how many of you use synths out there but I want something that produces good 80's sounds. I've never used the Korg Poly800 before but I played with the juno 106 and really liked it, I heard that the poly800 was korg's competition against the juno106 and it's about $200 cheaper on ebay. So, have any of you used the poly800 or would you like to reccomend any other good sounding 80's synths?

Apr 26, 2004 03:56 pm i would bet that spectrasonics will be coming out with a totally awesome synth virtual instrument plugin sometime soon. i've seen and used thier 'trilogy' bass emulator, which is loaded with classic--as well as new--synthesizer bass sounds. the sound files take up like 10 GB--so many choices. i am gonna keep a close eye on them in the future.

May 09, 2004 05:49 pm The Poly800 is a great synth for 80's sounds. I owned one in the 80's and loved it. Also owned a Juno106 though and it did have a bigger sound.
Korg has recently released a softsynth version of their biggest synths and I can tell you if you have the ability to use softsynths it is really the way to go. I just recently parted ways with my last Juno 106 and was very hesitant to do so. But after playing with the softsynths and finding how to dig deep into them and learning to program them and run them in real time they go much farther then any full on analog synth ever could.
