only sorta. i am in need of temporary, free file hosting. i'm not talking about web site hosting, but more of a drive space type thing. i just finished up transferring and re-mastering one of my old home movies. it's 32 mb big....just over the size limit for yahoo groups.

i was going to post it to my group. a bunch of pals that i used to make films with want to go to a site in order to download this. so really what im looking for is a place that will host, for free, a file 32 mb or larger. most places have 'limits' on the size per individual file. yahoo included.

i only need to have this posted for about 5 days before i take it down, so even a free trial place might be alright.

anyway, was just wondering if anyone's seen anything like this lately.

thanx

www.freedrive.com/

This place says you get 500 mb free... but I seem to recall that you had to download the "freedrive desktop" app in order to use it. I've never tried them myself, so I don't know for sure. Good luck with that.

Forty if you don't find something soon, let me know I can host the file for you for awhile.

i looked for hours last night and the most i found was a promising site called prohosting lite or something like that. it had everything i needed. but the web editor didnt work and it wouldnt say hi to my ftp client.

this xdrive thing you sent me to, tcb, looks good but they want my credit card number. telling me to cancel before the 15 days are up. makes me a bit nervous.

dan, that's real nice of you to make that offer. if it isn't too much of a hassle, i'd love to take you up on it. maybe you could host it on monday and tuesday. that'd be great. if anyone at hrc wanted to see a strange little film, they could check it out too.

If you have a yahoo email address you can also customize a "my Yahoo!" page, part of that customization includes the Yahoo Briefcase...but it is a 30 MB limit, maybe you can zip that file up and shrink it a couple of meg.

db, it does, but if you look through the faq's, youll find a page that says the individual file limit is 5. as in no file larger than 5 mb.

dan, thanks! thanks so much! i'll send the file over real soon.

thanks mang! and thanks for checking it out.

there is perhaps some meaning to get from the movie, but only if you try REALLY hard, and think about it.
its more like: you have to supply the meaning yourself. i do think it may actually BE there, though. but i may be too close to it to know that for sure.
