Ok so i just thought of this like 5 minutes ago. When i go to the movies the best part for me is the moive... but the SECOND best part are the previews. For one and only one reason, that awesome voice they alwyas have on at the end {crazy voice} Coming to a theatre near you {crazy voice} Now how would someone replicate that? I cant believe they go out and find people who just talk like that dry... What sort of fx are shoved up there - I hear some verb but I cant figure out the rest... any help = you rock. thanks!

Jan 21, 2004 08:57 pm actually there is one guy who does a lot of the previews voices because he does that voice, so most of the previews you hear are more than likely done by him. Forgot his name though...

Jan 21, 2004 09:24 pm Big compression, and like you said, reverb. And like Loki said, their is usually one guy who does the voice over stuff for a chain of theatres, or more.
Jan 22, 2004 04:46 am i'd love to find somebody who could do that voice. that would be so useful for comedy skits etc. i can't help but think of that sample from dr dre's the chronic which goes "this should be played at high volumes, preffereably in a residential area" then the beat drops.
i can get something close by getting real close to my oktava condensor so it boosts the bass (proximity effect?), but my voice is too kid-like

Jan 22, 2004 09:26 pm I think that is why I spent so much time trying to make my voice sound differant every time I did anything like that. Now I love doing voice stuff but dont have the time to persue many jobs like that as they always want ya to travel.
Jan 22, 2004 09:39 pm I wish I could do that voice...
Jan 23, 2004 03:53 am so does anybody around here do voice acting? I'm willing to do a trade of some sort.

Jan 23, 2004 05:12 pm What exactly are you looking for as far as voice acting goes Jamie? I can do some but it depends on what you want.
Jan 23, 2004 09:46 pm eh, just random stuff... i always come up with wicked lines that would be great for intros and breaks in industrial and ebm tracks, but i don't know anyone to do 'em. maybe i'll just ask sometime, you seem like you wouldn't mind, and i promise it would only take a minute of your time.

Jan 25, 2004 06:23 pm Kool, Id be willing to give it a shot if need be. And dude, ya know ya can take up my time if ya need to. :-)
Jan 26, 2004 08:45 am right on, i'll keep that in mind ;O)
Jan 26, 2004 01:10 pm I've been doing voice-overs for many years... All I need is a basic script, and an idea of what sort of 'voice' you need, and away I go.
I might do freebies if I got the time...

Jan 26, 2004 10:29 pm Jamie, I don't know if I'd be any good, but I'd enjoy doing some voice samples for you. I can tweak my voice pretty weird, and generally have a deep voice. It sounds like fun.
