I don't know why I didn't figure this out before. I'm getting good music for free. My library has an online system that allows you to find listings of all their stuff, right? Well it turns out that they have a ton of cds from my favorite artists, and bands I've heard recommended but never had the money to pick up their cds.
So anyhow, I just browse/search the listings, find something I like, and place a hold on it. A couple of days later, they call me to let me know it's in.
It's better than file-sharing. No dropped connections, no lawsuits, totally legal. They may not have the most popular stuff, but they have greats like Zappa, Bela Fleck, etc., and are willing to order what they don't have.
Yes, yes, I know, "no sh!+, sherlock", but who actually DOES this and saves money on the new classics? Something to think about.
cue narrator's voiceover: To learn more about such artists such as Frank Zappa and Bela Fleck, consult your local library. Because learning is a lifelong advenblah blah blah blah...
