Hats off to Musicians Friend!

My daughter called me a couple of days ago from Kansas City. One radio station out there has collected and verified people in the area that need help for Christmas. Theresa(daughter) had decided to sponser a single 50 year old gentleman who was just starting to get back on his feet after being homeless for 10 years. One thing he had expressed is that he wished he had a guitar anong with other very basic needs. I told Theresa to go to the scratch and dent center there in Kanasa and talk to the manager and see what he would do. Shipping from here in Michigan would be tremendous if I could find a good guitar.

Musicians Friend gave the a guitar at COST! And I truely mean at cost. In fact, I am sure less than cost. I know the model and know what they go for.

Yes Dorthy, there is a Santa Claus! (I think I got two references mixed there but you get the idea)

At this time of year it is hard for so many. But there are as shown by MF companies out there willing to do something to help. I know being with the boy scouts Tuna and I get involved in a lot of things like that during the holidays. Tuna gets involved with Operation Christmass child both with the scouts and the church. We also do a project involving children who dont hae the opportunity to christmass shop at all. They come in and we supply many differant items for them to choose from just like they are in a store, only it is in the local elementary schools gym. But the boys help take the children around to spend there money, most of which is donated and alotted pending the childs needs. It is so cool to see the boys take the kids around to shop for stuff, and it is really *** very simple little things. They shop for their brothers, sisters, parent'(s) or grandparents.

Tuna also gets involved with nursing home programs this time of year as well. The world needs a lot of help right now and it is good to see some of it being given.

So congrats and thanx to your daughter Theresa for stepping up. And Ill ask anyone who can do it, please do right now is very tough for some families and if you can help they truly do appreciate it. The family we sponsered last year for the scout troop came and thanked each one of us at a troop meeting after christmass and there were alot of tears that day as well as happy faces.

Peace

Yes Noise, you got it! Musicians Friend seems to be one of the big boys that has not gotton into the beyond human relm. So many retailers give their staff no latitude to do anything. I know when I was working with the GoodFellows there where so many retailers we did not approach because it took an act of that retailer's congress to ok a donation. I brought up my daughters giving them the gift of giving as well. Whatever organization I was working with, I would always involve the girls. They would pack things, go on deliveries, help pick out gifts. I remember a couple of years I felt lazy and didn't want to participate. No way!! The girls drug me out!

Well, anyway, I'm babbling. They make mo so proud sometines!
