Making Beats?

I know this probably has been asked 5,000 times here on the board but does anyone know what equipment most top hip-hop producers use to make beats such as The Neptunes, Timberland, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

...actually that doesn't get asked much on this board as far as I know...

For beat making I would recommend www.futureproducers.com

I believe the Neptunes lean heavily on their Triton keyboard. I'm pretty sure, the majority of producers are using MPCs though. Someone like Kanye West (one of the illest) I'm almost positive uses one. The Triton has some very quality sounds so you make your own melodies/harmonies and the MPC is one of the most intuitive ways to trigger samples, so you get the best of both worlds. Check out what this cat does with a Triton and an MPC.

Nice link coolo. The kats got some crazy tracks up there. And I agree with coolo on the Triton MPC thing. You will probly find one or more of each in most studios doing looping and beats.
