Boss digital delay not working?

hey guys, recently my frens lend me a BOss digital delay guitar effects n i try to plug it as like my Boss turbo distortion but it seems somting wrong..some harming sound come out from the amp n no guitar sound at all..anyone know wat happen?

have you checked the cables you used to plug it in with? Bad cables can do all sorts of funky stuff...and quite often, it is the problem. Grab the wire right before the jack housing and move it a little, if the sound changes or you start hearing static and such, that could be the prob.

BTW, welcome back, I don't think we have seen you around much lately.

You may also want to check the battery and connection there as well. But odds are if you are getting a horrible sound then the advice dB gave ya would be my first guess.

thanks DB & noize2u, i actually tried tru chorus, turbo dist, overdrive, heavy metal as well.. i usin the same amp, guitar, cable n power adapter 9v...it 's work fairly ok for all except digi delay...

that would leave me to believe there is something wrong with da pedal...musta been stomped one too many times...

Ya, it sound to me like something has come loose in there, or worse yet, blown up. If ya can open the thing up and take a look inside. Boss is great about using a fairly open board for most of their effects pedals so it should be fairly easy to spot any burned or broken componants. Let me know what you find and Ill see if I can be of any help.

hey man...the devices is working when i use battery but after awhile, whn i shutoff everyting n reopen agin the delay is not working...

One question and it may seem silly but it does have its merit. Do you unplug your guitar cords from the pedal after your done with it? Most foot pedals make the connection and turn on when the cord is in the jack, so this in turn will drain the battery even when you are not playing it.

i killed many innocent 9v batteries before i knew what i was doing wrong
