Everyone has that one Peice of gear that they find themselves using over and over again. I'm curious to see what everyones is. Computers don't count.

my mixer > i can't imagine what a mess i'd be with out it. Now i'm thinking about adding a second one to my set up. One as a permanent part of my in/out on the OC, another as a portable go-anywhere device

porp - the worst is when you have a drummer whose takes keep getting messed up because he/she can't get the headphone cord behind their back. actually, it's the worst when, as a result of that, your mixer goes flying during a big drum fill.

yeah i can't tell yah how many time i went to hit the snare but instead the head phones pop off my head fly over and knock a mic stand over leaving a huge mess to clean up because of course the mic stand knocks somthing else over and its just crazy. it always seems to happen during good takes to

Haha, yep, I hate it when the cord gets all mixed up with your playing. Happens to me all the time. But not now that I have my extension!

...Actually, I need a longer one now since I moved the drums further back. Ah, you can't win :)

Hey, I went out and bought a headphone extension cord from Radio Shack yesterday. What a difference it can make. I can literally record vocals from anywhere in my house and still have the mix fed thru the phones. 25ft for $12.

my korg triton. once i got the thing, i got rid of a lot of limitations and finally felt like i had my first real piece of equipment. piano, strings--layers. important for making an amateur sound like he sort of knows what he's doing.

but, no, i take that back. my POD.
