Cubase VST

I was wondering if this version of Cubase will do what I want it to, which is basically import tracks from my MR-8 Compact Flash card to Cubase VST and then be able to edit them. I used to do this with CEP and it worked perfectly if it wasn't a little slow (of course, I had Win ME, the worst OS of Win IMO). Now I have win XP and things are much better. This would let my import tracks from FL, for those of you who read my other post, which is a big plus.

I really only need 8-10 tracks or so which my comp can handle. I want EQ, things of that nature with the exception that I have an out board compressor.

So: Mic/Guitar/Bass > Appropriate Mic Pre/Compressor > MR-8 > Cubase VST

I just can't find that much info on VST.
(This and Cakewalk Home Studio are really the only things in my price range)
