hi. I have a yamaha rm1x sequencer, a PC, and fruity loops. I have gotten sick of the samples on the rm1x hard drive and wanted to hook up the rm1x to fruity loops so i could use som drum voices from fruity loops. I really like the sounds on fruity loops, but when i hook the rm1x up to the computer, the fruity loops sounds come out delayed from the time i press a key on the rm1x. i noticed that there is no delay when i hook the rm1x up to the soundblaster soundfonts on my PC. I also am having a lot of trouble figuring out how to play a snare from fruity loops when i press the "C major" note on track 1 of the rm1x, and how to play a hi-hat sound from fruity loops when i press the D note on the rm1x and so on, did I just make sense? i hope so. anyway, all i want fruity loops for is its nice selection of voices, but if there is anyway to put all the fruity loops voices on soundblaster soundfonts than that would be nice. if anyone can please help me or give me some suggestions on what software is good just for adding more voices to my rm1x, please let me know. i heard that recycle is a good programbut im not exactly sure what it does yet. Basically, my ultimate goal is to use my computer like a MPC2000. but i want to control it from my rm1x. Oh, also, my midi cables from rm1x to my pc are connected to the gameport. if that is why fruity loops samples are delayed, please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone knows where i can download a fruity loops manual that would help alot. Or even better, a manual that shows how to control fruity loops with the rm1x. Anything of that context would be a huge help because i've been ripping my hair out trying to figure this stuff out. thankyou so much!

here's a thread i started that no one took any interrest in: www.homerecordingconnecti...d=2456&frm5
There's a link there that will show you how to make your own soundfonts with free downloadable software.

But personally, if you ultimately want to use the PC as a drum machine/sampler, why are you even bothering with the rm1x? you could do everything in Fruity or some other program and simply trigger the sounds (any sounds) with the external controller.

sorry if i misunderstand your question. i'm kinda new to MIDI and latency and stuff :O) -j

oh yeah, also check the buffer settings in fruityloops (F10, audio tab) and play with them to tighten up your latency. i've never gotten any decent latency with my yamaha drum machine > midi cable > midisport usb > fruity loops > delta 44 soundcard setup, but maybe you'll have more luck
