SSD or HDD

Hey everyone,

My VST library is about to grow exponentially and I'm going to get a second drive to use solely for the 400GB its going to take up. Windows 10, my DAW, and my current library are all on a 250GB SSD right now.

I'm looking at getting either a Western Digital Black 2TB HDD or a Crucial or Samsung 1TB SSD. Clearly the SSD is going to be faster but I'm curious what you all are doing or have experienced in this realm.

Yeas, it's slowed down a lot over the last few years.

To answer, SSD, every time.

Right on, DB. Thank you for taking the time you have to keep us on the right track. Super stoked on getting some of VSL's unbridled VSTs. I've been using their Special Edition Orchestra for a couple years and I'm ready to step up to their Symphonic Cube Extended. Great sale going on this month.

SSD is WAY faster, but it's more expensive to get one of equal capacity (or was last I checked anyway)...

Good luck!
