Ideas for a specific reverb

So, I've been trying to get a specific reverb sound on my backup vocals. The reverb was pretty common for old (1970s-ish) samba/bossa nova, brazilian jazz type music. The video below has the reverb I'm talking about during the chorus. Any opinions how to get that sound?

Well, I'm not wildly knowledgeable on various types of reverb. To me, it sounds like maybe a type of plate style reverb? Maybe with a shorter tail? It's got kind of a cold/bright sound to it IMO, and I kinda associate plate verbs with having that kinda characteristic.

I loaded up a dry sound and played around with a couple verb presets, and I think the plate sound gets pretty close.

If the reverb effect you use has one, maybe use a bit of low cut below 100hz, and add a little sheen around 6Khz, fast pre-daly, less than 5ms, little longer decay time, but not very long: between 2 and 3 seconds i think? And a little dampening. Maybe a medium size of room kinda sound. A little less than 50% Wet sound.

I played with those settings on bootsy's EpicVerb, and that kinda got me in the ballpark.

A little compression on the chorus in the video probably enhances the reverb sound a little as well, I'm thinking.

TLDR: A little more dry than wet sound, Low cut on the effect if it has one built in, with maybe a slight boost somewhere in the lower part of the sibilant range. Not very heavily dampened, fast pre-delay, shorter decay/tail time, and kind of a plate style reverb fx plug-in.....at least that's what I'm thinking after quickly playing with some settings. That should get you in the ballpark, then you can probably fine tune the fx settings to suit the project.

Hope that helps, (and I hope I'm not wildly off base)
