Scoring a new axe: (well, used, but still)

So, to inspire myself to learn again, I'm trading my acoustic + some cash to a guy for an electric. Looked like a nice guitar, and I've seen good things said about it, though it's a little "fugly" looking.

I'm basically getting an Ibanez Arondite ADD120 for trading my cheapo acoustic and $90. The Arondite series is one of the more rare Ibanez guitars since it apparently sold in 2007, and only in 2007.

This links have some good images and info about the model. Not the actual guitar itself (which was in the craigslist ad) I think it looks fine, and it's supposed to get a pretty good sound with the two blade pickups. Yeah, the acoustic just wasn't doing it for me anymore. I'm looking forward to plinking around on the electric, though. At the very least I should have fun experimenting with tones via re-amping through the DAW :D

Decent looking guitar, hope it sounds just as good.

I'll use another thread to mention my latest Craiglist story...bah...

Yeah, I need to get back into teaching myself, learn a few chords, work on my strumming, and maybe plink away at some simple lead ideas or riffs or something.

Running it through my Carvin, it gets some pretty good sounding clean tones, and running it DI through my mixer and into the DAW, using the fretted synth amp plugins (freeamp 2.5) it gets some pretty nice tones.

Also, the string action is a little lower and easier on my fingers than the acoustic I was using. Overall, feels and behaves like a much more fun instrument. :)

Took a couple pics with my tablet. I'll post em tomorrow--scratch that, I put the pics in my photo album here on HRC. I'll pop em on facebook tomorrow.

Yeah, I've had that one for ages for using with the guitar-like VSTi

(it's how I did my track, Athasian Fields, a couple years ago) I have the free NI Kontakt Players, which has an okay sounding guitar in it, and I'd run that through GreenMachine II.

(here's the track link)
