So, at the beginning of this week I set out to write and record 4 song in 4 days. It is now the end of the 4th day, so I thought I'd share a little update.

Overall I managed to write lyrics for 3.5 songs.
I wrote music for 3.5 songs, although I'm really not happy with one of the songs music so maybe should knock that down to 3.
I recorded 1 song.

Friday was supposed to be reserved for mixing and mastering, but I will try to record a second song and then mix 2 of them, if possible. I'll post whatever I got by the end of the day tomorrow just to see what comes out of this mess.

I probably could have gotten more done, but recording was an issue because I don't like to record when my roommates are home, and they seemed to be on a rotating schedule so that one of them was always home (at least it seemed that way). And then yesterday afternoon, I started having computer issues. So that certainly put a damper on things. Hopefully I can get them resolved relatively painlessly, but I'm not holding my breath.

Don't expect anything great, ha ha.

I gotta start doing that...the guy I am recording with does stuff like this, tries to force it, and it works for him...

Well, life got in the way of music making, so I'll have to wait 9 or 10 days to fnish this up.

Ok, finally put together a mix for one of these songs.

Would definitely appreciate any thoughts on the mix, especially the vocals. I'm still trying to get a feeling for this room.

Listening now in my headphones, the rim/snare seems a touch loud.

Song is called Friday on my profile. It's a bit droning/slow, so I can imagine it won't be some people's cup of tea...
