etymotic hf5 earbuds? anybody have them?

Any etymotics product experiences at all? Looking for something to take to the gym and review mixes on the go. I've read on some hiding audiophile forums that they sound best with "extra impedance and a preamp". Smells like BS to me, either that or the headphones aren't as bass hypey as what these hifi guys are into. Impedence though? Why? Any clue?

I have been using their earplugs for years and they are awesome! They also have some of the best in-ear monitors but I'm not sure about their earbuds. I doubt very much that they would BS about their products though. They are a well respected company. This is assuming that you are talking about www.etymotic.com/

Edit: sorry in regards to the in-ear monitors I was thinking of Ultimate Ears and not Etymotic

Thanks! I thought it was either you or CptTripps that had experience with 'em. The gf and I don't guess at Christmas anymore. It's all about pointing at things and making demands.
