Nov 20, 2011 04:56 pm It sounds like you are talking about "docking" windows. You should be able to click and drag the top left corner to get it to "undock" from the toolbar.
Cool Edit Pro track property window

The track property window in my cool edit pro has completely re-invented itself...it used to be a little square thing with (and here's the important bit) adjustable paths for 'recording' and 'monitoring'...now it's a great big oblong thing that's attached itself to the main tracks window and only displays the recording path...not the playback. Consequently, whatever I record on track 1 automatically sends itself to whatever I'm recording on track 2 etc etc...help!
