Howdy peeps,
any chance someone can point me in the right direction of a good audio interface for my mac?
Im using Logic Pro 9, contemplating switching to pro tools but undecided although my studio engineer does use pro tools so may be easier just to learn that...
i only really need 2 inputs, as i will only ever be recording either 2 mics or 1 mic 1 instrument at the same time...so pretty standard really... i have an OK budget, just not something too crazy, it goes without saying I'm looking for value for money lol but cannot condone spending thousands when i will be recording masters in the studio anyway lol
thank you very much in advance :)

Oct 25, 2011 09:36 pm Sorry, I'm completely out of date on interfaces these days. Doesn't protools come with an interface if you go that route?

Oct 26, 2011 10:03 am pro tools have many interfaces that work with it, anything m-audio basically...trouble is I'm unsure of which one to go for! lol
Oct 26, 2011 06:56 pm MOTU makes a few devices that would fit the bill... One is even USB (so you don't have to worry about FireWire issues if you have a Mac that decided to not have it).

Oct 26, 2011 08:20 pm MOTU seem quite cool, expensive for what they are though.... but they look good! lol

Oct 26, 2011 08:21 pm what about the m audio fast track 2? seems pretty much what i need...whats the reviews on that?
Nov 05, 2011 06:19 pm We had a fast track at work, but it didn't play nicely with mac. If recall correctly it couldn't run 24 bit projects....
Apogee duet gets rave reviews but I've never tried one. The focusrite stuff is pretty decent, should be all good for most things, though I find the pres a bit noisy when you're using ribbon or dynamic mics on a quiet sound source.
Haven't had good experiences with Tascam.
