Mackie Big Knob or Presonus Control Station?

I currently have a Mackie Big Know which I like and use mainly for monitor A/B and talk back.

However, I feel like the Mackie adds quite a bit of noise to my chain.

Anyone ever used one of these?

Its definitely in my budget and seems to have all the simple features I would need but if it isnt going to solve my noise issue, I'll pass. Thanks.

If you can add a few $$, the Central Station is well worth it for the converter alone. "A-or-B-plus-C" switching, multiple digital and analog inputs, passive signal path, etc., etc., etc. If you get noise on that, it's coming from somewhere else (which might be the problem in the first place).

Thanks MM - I have looked at the Central Station too its just that a Control Station came up locally on Craigslist for cheap so thought I might snag it. I'm probably better off just saving up the extra $.

As for the noise, I re-wired somethings this past weekend and notice an audible noise as soon as the USB on my M-Audio Ultra 8r is plugged in. However, this initiates the sound to the computer through USB and the outs go directly to the Big Knob so its hard for me to tell the source of where its coming from. My new board (Tascam US2400) has no inputs so I cant bypass the Big Knob to test it. However, the noise was the same with a different computer and when I wasnt using the 8r so I assumed it was the Big Knob this whole time. Could defintiely be wrong though.

I've been pretty good at running cables perpendicularly, ensuring good distribution of power, etc.

Any thoughts on other ways to be sure?
