I'm using my computer for my recording but using USB monitors. What kind of sound card, or what do I need to hook up real monitors to my computer? What kind of connection will I need, or any sound card recommendations to run real cables to good monitor speakers?

Dec 23, 2010 11:07 am Define "real monitors"?
Any card with RCA outputs or 1/4 outputs will work.
I am going to sell by ESI Juli@ which has both if you are interested...
Dec 23, 2010 01:22 pm Yeah, that is pretty much the same type of card the Juli@ is, just without the changeout RCA and 1/4 inch plugs. The Audiophile rocks too. I've had them both, the Juli@ has MUCH lower latency...but the sound is great in both.

Dec 24, 2010 07:09 pm How much were you selling your ESI Juli@ for?
Dec 24, 2010 08:02 pm Not sure, prolly about $75 plus shipping.
Dec 26, 2010 12:01 am hey jovhato
i run two cards.
for the incoming sounds (recording function) i use the m-audio
fast track ultra. it can handle 6 separate mono channels via usb to the pc.
for the outgoing sounds i use an ONKYO VIA soundcard. this soundcard only has two cinch for left and right and an optical output. maybe not as valuable as a lynx but with reasonable specs for the price. and anyway better than the high class gamer card.
the mix happens in the pc, thats why i wanted separate soundcards for in and outgoing sounds.
just my 2 cent

Dec 27, 2010 07:08 am Thanks guys. That's what I'm looking for. dB, I'm trying to figure if it's worth the shipping to Michigan or just buying one online. The 2496 looks like a good deal too.
Hey dB, Do you have an email address I can contact you with?
Dec 27, 2010 08:25 am Michigan from Minnesota for something so small would likely be pretty cheap..
That said, I have had both the Juli@ and the 2496, liked the Juli@ better due to much lower latency in WDM driver modem ASIO was pretty similar, and the interchangable 1/4 inch and RCA type jacks. I have been using the RCA for a couple years. The drivers I found better (better interface and such).
I'll email you.
