I have 2 suggestions that might work in the forum.

(1) would be something like a help my song area. I'm thinking a bit different from the members music section. A section where you could place a song and get suggestions for improving the recording or mix etc. Could that be done in the current music section yes, but I'm thinking and area specific to suggestions. As well as, a what can I do to accomplish this area.

(2) Maybe a place to list items you are looking for instead of ones you are trying to sell

I think both are probably good ideas, but on #1 there doesn't seem to be many willing to comment on songs these days, so I don't know that adding another area would get much in the way of traffic/use.

The 2nd one sounds like a good idea.

Decent ideas...I have a couple comments:

#1 - good idea, I have added the critiques forum for this purpose, but the harder part in there is always getting the right link to the song or explaining how to listen to it, what you have suggested might be a decent solution, and regarding olddog's comment, and easier interface in which to listen to the song may encourage more listening...hmmmm....

#2, I've tried classifieds before with for sale and wanted listings, all it got was spam.

Glad to see your response to the 1st suggestion. My thought was people seem reluctant to leave anything other than praise in the members music section. And so many folks ask for opinions or help, this might stimulate some critique everyone can learn from.

And on the 2nd one I could easily see that being a problem/ My thought was lots of folks upgrade or change there minds on a piece of equipment all the time. And I figured it might work better in reverse. Example I have mics way past what I need , that I'm not even considering selling but if I saw one being sought after I....... might think about it. But you point is taken.

Okay, I've got a suggestion on anti-spam measures:

How about implementing something like over at Penny-Arcade, where on the registration form, there is a text field with an existing sentence that has to be deleted and replaced by a phrase of at least 5 words.

On the other hand...developing the checking algorithm for that would probably drive someone insane haha.
