tascam fw-1082 and tascam 788

Hello everyone, I have a few questions.
I am going to purchase the tascam fw-1082 and use it with cubase.
I have a tascam 788, and I was thinking I could use this to do some remote work, and then bring back the tracks and add them to my daw setup.
So, can this be done, would I do it with midi/word clock/smpte???
I suspect I could record a sync track, record a few tracks of the song that I'm working on in my daw setup to my 788, record a few tracks remotely, bring them home, and dump them back on the daw and have them sync up.
Will this work???

Also, I haven't bought a computer yet, how fast does a computer have to be to run cubase with the tascam fw-1082?
I've already grabbed some vsts/plugins (ez drummer, ivory, etc.), I'm assuming the more vst's and processors, the heavier it is on the system.

And lastly, I plan on bringing all these tracks to a studio for mastering, and maybe some mixing, can cubase export all of the tracks (that I can later burn on a dvd) to software like protools?

Thanks, this is my first post, I look forward to being a member. any comments on any of my questions would be greatly appreciated.

happy music making all...
