Anything good or bad to say about the Yamaha HS80s?

Thinking about upgrading from my KRK Rokit 8s and just curious if anyone is using/used the Yamahas. I A/Bed them at Guitar Center last week with the KRKs and Mackies and was pleased. Any insight would be appreciated. I record and mix mainly urban music (R&B, Reggae & Hip Hop) but also record some accoustic/folk. Thanks.

I've got a set of the 5's. i like them :) I compared them to the KRK's and...idk. the KRK's seemed REALLY punchy. My worries would be that they might throw you off while mixing. I don't really know enough about mixing to be of much help, but so far mine have sounded great and i've had no problems with them

As many ppl might start catching on i absolutely LOVE my hs50s and i think where alot of ppl dont hear punch or low end i hear a much truer bear bones representation of wat has been recorded. From answers ppl have given me on here, with the 80s u might have problems with the bigger low end if ur in a not so well tuned room, so definitely bear that in mind but to be honest ive been thinking of upgrading to 80s for a while

a friend of mine has KRKs and i think their really boomy and the low end erally throws off his mixes. The yamahas sound really dead and lackluster, but isnt that the point? The whole reason behind the popularity of the NS10s was always that they took so much work to make things sound good and i think yamaha has kept that in mind with the HSs

long story short i really like em but their kind of the ugly sheep of monitors in their price range
