Sorry for the deleted post, I thought it was going to delete the thread.

Anyway, I basically wanted to know if the negative reviews of the Lexicon Omega are warranted. Anyone here have experience with this product?

I know there is a better out there, but the price point is appealing. Thanks.

Yeah..... I don't even record, but I have come across this piece. Turns out not to be up to the Lexicon standards. It has issues with noise being produced by the interface it's self. And really has problems with longevity.

It's sad really. Lexicon's name has always stood for quality. and for them to attach their name to something as worthless as this piece, is just throwing their name right down the toilet.

they way i see it they shouldve recalled it if they were that worried about it.
I had one....dont waste yer money, but its not just me obviously there are heaps of people out there that have had the same issues with it.

There are hapes out there that are good, i bought a Tascam us1641 and its hasnt missed a beat yet, its been about 3 years now.

Thanks for the replies...

It looks like any decent audio interface starts @ $300 and up.

Not necessarily. It depends on how many ins and outs you need. Also, it looks like ESI has some new (well new to me at least) entry-level interfaces out both firewire and USB.

You've also got the line6 toneports (now called pod studio) UX1 and UX2 which are less than $200, and are pretty nice gear. Also nice and stable.

The Echo Audiofire 2 is pretty nice, and Echo is known to make pretty good solid equipment. The Audiofire4 is what I have, and has more ins/outs, but it's also $280 which is closer to the $300 mark.

Presonus has an USB interface at the $200 mark.

Let's not forget the infamous M-Audio Delta1010 PCI card.

Even Tascam has an entry level USB interface for $100

Granted any of these may or may not suit your needs depending on what you need as far as number of ins/outs, whether you need 1/4" vs. RCA vs. XLR, Midi or no midi, etc. etc. But it's worth it to shop around a bit. There are some great little interfaces out there that won't break the bank.

Also, I <3 Zzounds :D
