Cubase 5 problem

Hi,
why am i staring at this program, and the only kind of files i can import are MIDI MusicXML and OMF? Why are the other options greyed out, such as audio file, cd audio, video file, track file etc? im looking to play around with a mere mp3 for heavens sakes :-)

lol fixed!! cubase didnt beta test and a huge bug fix was needed
now i can get to my task at hand!
